Incubarte International Art Festival 2015 7th edition - Δηλώστε συμμετοχή!
Incubarte International Art Festival 2015 announces the open call for art proposals for its 7th edition, whose aim is to value and promote contemporary art in the city of Valencia. This call is for artists of any nationality or age. The festival will take place on June 18-21, 2015. Following the festival’s four-day duration, the exhibitions will remain open for the month of July. Starting with the festival’s 7th edition, Incubarte will be now celebrated biennially. The competition is designed as an international platform for the promotion and exhibition of art in galleries and international institutions.
The Festival is divided into three stages:
Selection / The Festival’s curatorial team will select the artworks to be displayed in different venues of the festival.
Exhibition / Exhibition during the Festival
Awards / Jury Prize, Marte Castellon Art Fair Prize, the International Biennial of Casablanca Prize and the Incubarte Special Prize.
1º. Exhibition at the Festival
The Festival organizers, through its curatorial team, will select the artworks to be displayed in different venues of the festival. In addition, an illustrated catalogue of all the selected works will be published.
2º. Jury Prize
INCUBARTE will make a selection of art gallery directors, critics and art professionals in order to create an independent Jury. This jury will visit the exhibitions and choose the prizewinning artists. Each member of the Jury will use their own individual and independent criteria, being able to choose more than one winner. One artist can be awarded by more than one member of the Jury.
The exact nature of the prize – consisting of an exhibition proposal, contract of representation, etc. – will be decided by the artist and the gallery director themselves. The list of galleries and art institutions participating in the Festival will be displayed on the INCUBARTE’s website as their participation is confirmed. The Festival organizers do not award any direct prize at this stage.
3º. Marte Castellon Art Fair Prize.
The prize consists of a selection of artists whose works will be exhibited in Incubarte’s booth at the Fair in September 2015, where they will be offered for sale.
5º. Incubarte Special Prize
The curatorial team will select a number of artworks to make up this exhibition in a prestigious art space. The selection process will take place after the festival and the works will be exhibited jointly with the Incubarte 6 (2013 edition) Special Prize. The artists will be contacted personally.
The prizes in this free-themed competition are divided into four general categories: painting, sculpture / installation, photography and video art.
Participation is open to all artists of any age, gender or nationality. The technical details in the different categories are:
Works created with freedom of style and technique in any medium, with maximum dimensions of 200×200 cm. This discipline includes drawing, prints and illustration. For the purpose of the selection process the photographs of the work will be sent – in JPG format up to a maximum of three images per work with a 72ppp resolution – instead of the work itself. Each image shall be properly named with the artist’s name and the title.

Sculpture / Installation
Works created in any type of organic or inorganic medium. Works can use sound, light, video and mechanical or electrical motion. The maximum dimensions for each work will be of 400x400x400 cm (base/depth/height) For the purpose of the selection process the photographs of the work will be sent – in JPG format up to a maximum of three images per work with a 72ppp resolution – instead of the work itself. Each image shall be properly named with the artist’s name and the title.

Colour or black&white analogical and digital photography and artworks created with a computer. The maximum dimensions of each work will be 150 cm on each side. For the purpose of the selection process the photographs of the work will be sent – in JPG format with a 72ppp resolution– instead of the work itself. Each image shall be properly named with the artist’s name and the title. In case the work consists of a series of photographs, the pictures that make it up will be considered a single work. The series shall not contain more than three pieces nor should it occupy more than 300 cm in total.

This category includes any kind of audiovisual language as long as it is using a single channel format. The works should have a duration up to 10 minutes, including opening titles and closing credits. For the purpose of the selection process the work will be uploaded to www.vimeo.com, enabling the privacy setting ”add to collections.”

ART. 3. JURY
The selection of the works participating in the Festival and accompanying exhibitions will be made by the Organization of INCUBARTE 2015. This decision will be final and unappealable. The selection of the prizewinning works will be made by a professional jury consisting of art gallery directors collaborating with the festival. The jury will make its decision independently. The Organization does not intervene in the resolution of these awards.
ART. 4. ENTRY
To be considered for participation, the artist will fill out the registration form published on the website of the Incubarte Festival 2015 at www.incubarte.org The deadline for the entry will beMarch 30, 2015 at midnight, UTC+1 time zone. Each artist may submit up to three artworks in any of the categories of the festival. The registration can be done as a single artist or as an art collective. The submitted files must be titled as follows:
The artist will need to fill out one registration form for every submitted work.
Any material that does not meet the requirements specified will not be accepted.
The list of artists selected to participate in the competition will be made public on the Incubarte Festival 2015 website at www.incubarte.org
The selected artists commit to:
Complete and sign the authorization for the exhibition of their work.
Make physical delivery of the work within the required date. The participant will send the work directly to the exhibition space. The dates as well as the shipping address will be communicated by email personally. The artist shall bear the shipping costs. The Organization is not responsible for any damage resulting from transportation, both outbound and in return. It is advisable to insure the shipment in order to avoid any problems in this regard.
Transfer to Incubarte the reproduction and distribution rights for promotional and publicity purposes, including th 2015 catalogue.
Participation in the Incubarte Festival 2015 implies total acceptance of these terms and conditions.
The dates for the return of the work will be communicated personally to the artist by email. Upon the expiry of the collection and return period, the Organization understands that the artist waives their right to the work and will use the work in the manner it deems appropriate.
