Η εγκατάσταση του Ζήση Κοτιώνη «Υπονόμευση» στοιχειοθετεί ένα εφήμερο μνημείο για την ανεπιτέλεστη πράξη ανατίναξης του ξενοδοχείου «Μεγάλη Βρεταννία» τα Χριστούγεννα του 1944, απο τις δυνάμεις του ΕΛΑΣ, με την ευκαιρία της κρίσιμης επίσκεψης του Τσώρτσιλ στην Αθήνα. Η αναμνημόνευση και η αρχειοθέτηση του συμβάντος είναι κατάδυση στο αστικό υπέδαφος και τις σκοτεινές υποδομές του, αναδεικνύοντας τη σωματικότητά του, ως πεδίου εγκόλπωσης του αστικού ασυνειδήτου και της ανεσταλμένης συλλογικής επιθυμίας.

Zissis Kotionis SUBVERSION, THE RETURN OF THE REPRESSEDAthens, December 1944,
a Story of the Political Underground
«SUBVERSION», is an installation of a temporal monument dedicated to the unrealized explosion of Hotel «Grande Bretagne», on Christmas of 1944. The hotel was subverted by the communist resistance awaiting Churchillʼ s official visit in Athens. The recollection and the documentation of the event plunges into the urban underground, its hidden structure, pulling out its corporeality and the repressed desires of the urban unconscious.
