“The era, the history, the works…”
a discussion with
Michelangelo Pistoletto on June 25th at the Acropolis Museum
The Aeschylean
Festival, in regard to the participation of the
great Italian visual artist Michelangelo Pistoletto in our annual
programme, organizes an event-discussion in the
auditorium of the Acropolis
Museum , on Wednesday June
25th, at 1 p.m until 3.30 p.m.
Widely
regarded as fundamental to the birth of the Arte Povera movement and the
international art scene, Michelangelo Pistoletto is going to exhibit his work
for the first time in Greece in the forthcoming September, as the Festival's
Visual Artist in Elaiourgio, in the city of Eleusina (Opening day: Saturday
August 30th).
The following speakers are going to
participate in the introductory discussion with the artist:

art historian and curator

Achille Bonito Oliva,
Italian contemporary art critic, curator and professor of History of
Contemporary Art at La Sapienza University
·
Katerina Koskina,
President of the Board of Trustees of the State Museum of Contemporary Art, art
historian and curator
·
Christos Papoulias,
architect
The artist Katerina Zacharopoulou
will be the coordinator of the discussion between the speakers, facilitated by a
simultaneous interpreting between the two languages (Italian, Greek).
In the previous hour, at 11.30 a .m. until 12.30
p.m., a press conference will be given in the same area about the programme of the
Aeschylean Festival with the participation of the creators of this year’s events.
